Preseason Live Thread: Cavs @ 76ers
Hello CtB!
The long wait is over, Cavs basketball is back tonight as they’ve traveled to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the 76ers. The Sixers have already played a preseason game, beating the crap out of the Brooklyn Nets 127-108 on Monday night. Philadelphia was looking every bit a championship contender while the Brooklyn Nets looked like a team again without any useful bench players. The whole Cavs roster will have to compete hard from the jump to whistle if they want to make it a game.
There’s already been injury buzz surrounding the Cavs during training camp, namely:
#Cavs announce that Evan Mobley will miss Wednesday night's preseason game in Philly due to a right ankle sprain. He will be out approximately 1-2 weeks.

#Cavs swingman Dylan Windler will not play in tonight's preseason opener — and didn't make the trip to Philly — because of a minor right ankle injury suffered at the end of yesterday's practice, sources tell @clevelanddotcom https://t.co/boqYL4zqtQ

Both injuries are making waves among fans albeit for different reasons. For Windler, it’s just a sad story about a guy who has never been able to stay consistently healthy. It’s a double whammy in this particular instance because there was positive buzz about how Windler has looked improved, and how he was a constant presence at all of the off-the-record summer workouts.
For Evan Mobley, it’s a mixed feeling between alarm and relief. Alarm because it’s the franchise “centerpiece” going down with injury in meaningless action. Relief because it sound as though the injury is minor and the Cavs will take extra precautions given the time of year. Get well soon, Mr. Mobley!
Hopefully the good guys in wine and gold stay healthy and show some fight, tip off is scheduled for 7:00PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted on NBATV and Bally Sports Ohio, Go Cavs!!!
