While it’s looking to bring in more than 850 people to work across its 11 regional distribution centres.

Roles up for grabs include lorry drivers, warehouse selectors and logistics assistants.

Aldi claims that it is the only supermarket that offers paid breaks, which for the average worker, is worth more than £830 a year.

It will be the biggest festive recruitment drive it has ever launched, Aldi said.

Aldi UK recruitment director Kelly Stokes said: “This year we’re recruiting more people than ever over the Christmas period to support the growing number of customers that are switching to Aldi.

“That includes a mix of temporary and permanent positions, as well as looking to fill both in-store roles and positions at our Regional Distribution Centres.”

Head to Aldi’s website to apply for the roles on offer.

You can search for roles which are available near you – make sure you dust off your CV to apply.

Aldi isn’t the only supermarket on a hiring spree ahead of Christmas.

Tesco is planning to take on 12,500 temporary workers to keep up with demand over the festive period.

At the same time, it announced 325 jobs would have to be cut as part of efforts to streamline office and field-based teams – but that this would not affect store positions.

Supermarkets often take on temporary workers over the busy Christmas period.

Last year, Sainsbury’s was on the hunt for 22,000 workers to take up shifts over the festive period.
