Target to recall about 12,800 Hearth & Hand with Magnolia tea kettles due to fire and burn hazards
Target Corp. is recalling about 12,800 Hearth & Hand with Magnolia tea kettles because of the risk of fire and burn hazards. "The paint can chip on the bottom of the recalled kettles, posing a fire hazard," the company said. "In addition, the handle can break and/or the spout can leak, posing a risk of burn injuries." The kettles were made in India and sold at Target stores from July 2021 through October 2021 at a price of about $35. Target has received 27 reports of incidents involving the kettles and one user reported a fire caused by paint chipping off the bottom. Consumers can return the kettles to a Target call and receive a full refund. Target shares were up 0.7% Thursday, but have fallen 32% in the year to date, while the S&P 500 has fallen 21%.
