Boy, 15, taken to hospital after being stabbed in Devon

A 15-year-old boy has been taken to hospital following a stabbing in Torquay this evening, with another teenager arrested.

The victim was rushed to Torbay General Hospital after police were called at around 6.08pm to the seaside resort town in Devon.

The scene on Carlton Road has been cordoned off and the road closed while an investigation takes place.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘We attended that location [Carlton Road] at 6.08pm this evening after a report of a young male being stabbed at that location.

‘A 15-year old male has gone to Torbay District Hospital.

‘The extent of injuries are not known.

‘A 16-year old male is in police custody in relation to this incident.’

They said they were not looking for any other suspects.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reports: ‘Carlton Road in both directions closed due to police incident from Windsor Road to Kenwyn Road.

‘Traffic is coping well. Road closed around 6..40pm.’
