Unidentified Gunmen Kill Man in Northern Afghanistan

0

Local Taliban officials in Faryab province in northern Afghanistan said that unknown gunmen killed a man in the Pashtun Kot district of the province.

The Taliban security officials involved in the investigation of the case stated that the incident took place on Saturday night, October 8 in the Takali village of the Pashtun Kot district.

According to Shamsullah Mohammadi, the Director of Information and Culture of the Taliban for Faryab province, the man was shot to death with a rifle.

However, other than to say that they are investigating the case to identify the perpetrators and ascertain the cause and motive, the Taliban officials made no mention of the murder’s cause or motive.

Previously last week, a gardener was reported to have been killed by unidentified assailants who killed him in the Qaisar district of Faryab province.

The Taliban officials had arrested two people in connection with the case and stated that the investigations were underway.

Meanwhile, a Taliban official, the head of economy for Faryab province was also assassinated by unknown assailants as the Taliban official was on his way home.

People are concerned due to security instability in many Afghan provinces, particularly Faryab province, as crime rates have raised in Afghanistan.

Despite the Taliban’s claims of maintaining security in Afghanistan, many members and officials of the group have not been exceptions in being victims since the group took control of the country.
