The Midnight Club viewers all have the same complaint about record-breaking Netflix horror

THE Midnight Club has taken Netflix by storm ever since its release this month – but viewers aren’t happy about one fine detail.

Following eight terminally ill young people residing at Brightcliffe Hospice, the ten-part series sees them meet up nightly at midnight to tell each other sinister stories.

But viewers have dubbed the horror series as ‘slow’ and ‘boring’[/caption]

The show follows the success of its creator Mike Flanagan’s previous Netflix horror offerings, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass. 

However, despite the success of its predecessors, those glued to The Midnight Club have slammed the show for being “slow” and “boring”.

Alongside an array of confused-faced emojis, one person penned: “Is The Midnight Club supposed to be scary? If anything, I’m quite bored.”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “The Midnight Club is so slow, like, it’s actually quite boring.”

While a third remarked: “Everything on Netflix seems so budget nowadays – The Midnight club is dry!”

Others were left cowering behind their cushions after the show broke records for having the most jump scares in a horror series.

Bosses were presented with a Guinness World Record for having 21 jump scares in total at the New York Netflix headquarters last week.

Despite achieving the most jump scares, Mike has expressed his dislike for jump scares in movies in the past. 

He said to Deadline: “My whole career I completely s*** on jump scares as a concept.

“I wanted to make sure it was pinned to me, too, as much as it is to the show, to Netflix, and all of us who have inflicted this on everyone.

“Now, I have my name in the Guinness Book of World Records for jump scares.

“It means the next time I get the note, I can say, ‘You know, as the current world record holder for jump scares, I don’t think we need one here.'”

The Midnight Club is available to stream on Netflix.
