Watch shocking moment van narrowly avoids high-speed head-on collision after badly timed overtake
A SHOCKING video caught by a driver with a dashcam shows the moment they nearly had a head-on collision with a van.
Uploaded to TikTok by user @cartricked the video shows the van driver making a badly timed overtake.
It’s filmed using a dashcam mounted in a car making its way along a fast A-road.
Up ahead an HGV is coming towards the camera car on the other side of the road.
However, a white van pulls out from behind and goes for the overtake without much room to spare.
The speed of the HGV and camera car makes it clear the van will have to get a move on if it wants to make the pass safely.

However, after a couple of seconds, it’s obvious there is no way the van is going to make the gap.
There’s a heart-stopping moment where the van driver has to make a decision and rather than brake that decision is to turn right, around the camera car, on the wrong side.
Just inches separate the camera car and the HGV on the right and the van on the left as both scream past.
The video flicks to the rear camera view and the van can be seen still going for the overtake as it barrels on up the road.
People couldn’t believe the van driver took such a risk in the comments below the video.
