Tipping Point fans fume as Ben Shephard announces ‘utterly useless’ mystery prize

TIPPING Point fans have been left fuming after a contestant received a mystery prize deemed “utterly useless”.

Wednesday afternoon’s episode of the ITV quiz show saw Malcom, Hayley and Danny take on the extraordinary machine in the hope of winning a cash jackpot.

Soon into the episode, Hayley was delighted after she earned herself a mystery prize as the rare counter fell out – a Slush Puppie machine.

“You got your hands on a mystery prize, which is a slushy maker!” said host Ben Shephard.

Hayley was very thankful, telling Ben: “I so wanted one! Thank you!”

Tipping Point fans, however, branded the prize as “poor” compared to previous prizes handed out on the show.

Alongside an array of angry-faced emojis, one person penned: “Imagine getting happy about a mystery prize and then you find out it’s a slush machine. Christ!”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “ITV have had an absolute shocker there. A slush machine as a prize? Utterly useless!”

While a third remarked: “A f***ing slushl maker – really? What a s*** prize that is!”

It’s not the first time that a prize has been slammed by viewers.

Just last month, contestant Foluke won a three-night family glamping trip with Atlantic Surf Pods.

One disgruntled viewer posted: “S*** mystery prize klaxon. What a shocker!”

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
