Coronation Street fans open-mouthed as Stu Carpenter rocked by daughter’s life-changing confession
FANS of Coronation Street could not belive their ears during tonight’s episode as Stu Carpenter’s daughter made a horrifying confession.
For weeks, fans of the ITV soap have seen an innocent Stu (Bill Fewllows) try desperately to clear his name for his wrongful imprisonment of his ex-girlfriend Charlie as well as trying to attempt to build bridges with his estranged daughter Bridget.
However fans we’re left stunned when Stu received a visit from Bridget and his granddaughter Eliza where she made a stomach-churning confession.
After welcoming the duo over to his and Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) house for brunch, Stu loves spending time with his loved ones and it seems as though things could finally be on the up for the family as they have a laugh and reminisce about good times.
Eventually when the subject of Stu’s prison stint arises, Bridget acts coy and feels awkward when Stu chats to Eliza about his time inside.
Feeling overwhelmed, she rushes out of the house and into the garden.

A guilty Stu goes to speak to her and the pair embrace as he offers her a comforting shoulder but the guilt is soon written all over Bridget’s face.
As her eyes began to well up, an emotional Bridget said: “I’m sorry Dad.”
Stu quickly responded saying: “Hey, it’s not your fault, I knew you were only doint what your mam told you to do.”
Bridget interjected: “No, you don’t understand… It was me.”

A confused Stu replied: “Sorry, what was you?”
“It was me dad,” Bridget replied tearfully, adding: “I killed Charlie.”
Stu was left gobsmacked at his heartbroken daughter’s revelation.
Bridget went onto detail the events surrounding the murder and insisted that she never meant for it to happen before adding that her mother was in on it and helped to cover it up as well as bury the body.
She then told Stu she had braced herself for what ever was to come next before hurriedly leaving with Eliza.
Viewers of the show at home we’re left in complete disbelief at the revelation.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “My heart breaks for Stu, he literally spent 20 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit and now he’s only just found out. #Corrie”
Another added: “Stu won’t grass up his own daughter will be?? #Corrie”
