The Crown is reportedly concerned about handling the heartbreaking moment with respect.

They don’t want to upset Princess Diana‘s sons Princes William and Harry. Another concern is that the late royal is beloved by the public, and they don’t want to alienate their audience by mishandling the moment.

The report noted that it is unlikely that the exact moment of Princess Diana‘s death on August 31, 1997 will occur onscreen.

Elizabeth Debicki will play the role of Princess Diana for the final season of The Crown.
