People are just realising you can fix three most annoying iPhone changes added in iOS 16
APPLE’S latest iPhone update is packed with amazing features – but you might not like them all.
If you’re annoyed by any of the iOS 16 changes, don’t panic: the worst offenders are easily fixed.
Here are three controversial iPhone changes that you might want to tweak.
Lock Screen notifications
The Lock Screen received a huge makeover with the new iOS.
It’s now highly customisable, with widgets and adjustable fonts for the time and date.

But iOS 16 also changed how notifications appear.
They now stack at the bottom of the Lock Screen, rather than appearing near the top.
Thankfully there’s an iPhone hack to revert to the old look – if you prefer.
Simply go to Settings > Notifications > Display As.

And then you need to choose the List option.
It’s set to Stack by default in iOS 16, but List gives you a look that’s as close to iOS 15 as possible.
iPhone Search button
If you don’t use the Search function on iPhone, you’re missing out.
Just swipe down on the screen to instantly access almost anything on your Apple iPhone.
But if you’ve upgraded to iOS 16, you’ll notice that there’s a new way to access Search.
It now appears at the bottom of your Home screen as a button.
That’s handy for some, but you might find that you keep accidentally pressing it.
If that’s the case, simply turn it off.
Go to Settings > Home Screen and then set the Search button toggle to the off position.
It’ll then vanish from your Home Screen for good.
Turn off Always On display
If you’ve got an iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, you get a bonus iOS 16 feature.
It’s called the Always-On Display – yes, it does what it says on the tin.
The feature works thanks to the screen having an ultra-low 1Hz refresh rate, allowing you to keep the display active but dim.
It should have a minimal effect on battery life, but you might find the burden too much.
And it’s entirely possible that you might just find the entire feature distracting or annoying.
The good news is that it’s extremely easy to turn the Always-On Display off.
Just go to Settings > Display & Brightness and then set the Always On toggle to the off position.

Once that’s done, your iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max Lock Screen will work just like any other iOS 16 device.
And if you regret your decision, you can set Always On to activate again at any time through the Settings app.
