EMMERDALE star Kevin Mathurin revealed how he knew he wouldn’t be killed off in 50th anniversary episodes.
Kevin, 49, has played the troubled vicar Charles in Emmerdale since Christmas Day in 2020.
With the show’s dramatic week to mark its 50th anniversary airing on-screen, Kevin has spoken about how the actors are told they will be killed off.

This week, viewers have seen Charles and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) walk in a deadly storm while Nicola searches for for Jimmy.
The two village neighbours have been arguing for weeks after Charles’s daughter Naomi Walters was revealed to have witnessed Nicola’s attack in the summer.
Nicola was horrified to realise that Naomi, who hadn’t stepped in to help her, was friends with the girls who were responsible.
Although Naomi has since done the right thing by giving a statement to the police, Nicola hasn’t been prepared to forgive her.

Charles agreed to give Nicola a lift when they were both late leaving for Kim Tate’s wedding reception at Home Farm.
Charles and Nicola spot the mini-bus that was transporting the rest of the guests, but the vehicle has been abandoned.
Nicola assumes the guests must have made the rest of the journey on foot.
With tensions still running high between Charles and Nicola, they struggle to agree over what they should do next.
When Nicola bravely heads off into the storm to find her husband Jimmy, a reluctant Charles feels he has no choice but to follow her.
Will they find themselves in danger?
