Watch brawl erupt as punters punch police after winning horse is relegated to second
THIS is the shocking moment a brawl erupted between punters and police after a winning horse was controversially demoted to second.
One person jumped the railing of a balcony leading to the stewards’ room and a window was smashed as tempers flared spectacularly in Argentina.
A police officer tries to intervene with security to calm the scenes but gets met with a flurry of punches in scenes that left other racecourse punters watching in horror.
The remarkable bust-up happened after El Musical, who was first past the post in the Group 1 Gran Premio Jockey Club, was demoted to second.
Natan was named winner at San Isidro racecourse – but that only tells half the story.
El Musical’s jockey Juan Villagra appeared to twice barge into Natan on the final furlong.
Natan’s rider Adrian Giannetti appealed the result with stewards after and they decided the interference had cost him victory.
But that sparked uproar from connections of El Musical, who felt they should have kept the race.

Local reports claimed the owners have now been banned from running their horses at the track.
While a story in Turf Diario read: “There were those… who were insulted, threatened, spat on.
“Those responsible for Natan did not even want to raise their glasses.
“It is a degree of irretrievable madness. There will be an investigation.
“There are many clips of the incident and the issue could escalate beyond the racetrack.
“Hopefully we never see anything like this again.”
Villagra said the reversal of placings was ‘crazy’ but Giannetti insisted that was ‘a brush’ between the two.
Unfortunately scraps at racecourses are nothing new.
A huge fight broke out at Sandown last April with video capturing one man getting totally KO’d by a sucker punch.
While in September last year ‘disgusting thugs’ were seen fighting with each other and security at Newmarket.
