● DuPage County, IL Chair: Next month, Democrats have the chance to take the top job in Illinois' second-most populous county for the first time in living memory. Democratic state Rep. Deb Conroy will face off against Republican Greg Hart, who sits on the DuPage County Board, for the right to succeed retiring Republican incumbent Dan Cronin as chair of the county Board in this populous suburban Chicago community. The chair, who is elected countywide, has a job comparable to a county executive and is not counted as a member of the 18-person Board.
