19Fortyfive: US main adversary is not Russia or China
U.S. national security is under serious threat from a critical shortfall in the U.S. military, defense strategist Mackenzie Eaglen reports in an article for 19Fortyfive
Russia, China, Iran, North Korea and “many other nations” are certainly adversaries of the United States, the author writes. However, in her view, “the most formidable current enemy of the Pentagon is the lack of manpower to defend the nation. Inglen’s article is titled: “The main enemy of the US military is neither Russia nor China.”
The results of the international situation, according to the expert, are evident, and the US military recruitment crisis is not abating. “For example, the new fiscal year began last weekend and the US Army is 25 per cent short of its target goal of recruiting new soldiers,” she writes.
Eaglen also notes that as a result of this negative trend, army services are “unwittingly and destructively shrinking”.
