The US Chess Championship 2022 is taking place from 5-20 October at the Saint Louis Chess Club. Fourteen of the country’s strongest chess players battle for the national title and $60,000 in a classical round-robin event with Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian and Wesley So headlining the field which includes Hans Niemann as the 8th seed.

Just as he announced in the Round 10 interview, Hans Niemann yesterday defeated Aleksandr Lenderman and now is back to 50%. After the game, Niemann said he is optimistic for his future. The 19-year-old today faces Samuel Sevian and takes black pieces. Follow the game live:
