The Chase sparks ‘fix’ row as viewers furiously complain the Vixen ‘cheated’ in tense final round
THE Chase found itself in the middle of a new “fix” claim from viewers after ‘The Vixen’ answered a question about milk bottles.
The quiz whizz, real name Jenny Ryan, found herself unwillingly causing controversy online during the final chase when Bradley Walsh asked: “What colour indicates semi-skimmed milk on bottles?”
Jenny responded: “Red and Silver”, which host Bradley accepted before moving on in the speed round.
But fans weren’t quite so accepting, and in fact criticised her for “cheating” and crying “fix” because typically, on plastic bottles at least, the labelling indicating semi-skimmed milk is always green. Red is an indicator of skimmed.
This is made all the more painful when the remaining contestants were only one question away from taking the win, and things would’ve made the difference.
“Semi-Skimmed milk carton tops are Green (or white) NOT RED which is skimmed milk……. Incorrect answer from #TheVixen given as correct? They were one correct answer away from winning!” wrote one fuming fan.
“Excuse me? Semi skimmed is GREEN!” insisted another.
While a third added: “am sure the question was colour of tops on semi skimmed milk chaser said red and silver……it’s green or did I hear the question wrong????”
Technically, neither are wrong in this instance – glass milk bottles of semi-skimmed milk are sealed with a red and silver foil top, but nowadays most people use green labelled plastic bottles.

This, in itself, annoyed fans who knew this, because it gave the question two possible answers.
“What’s the point of asking a question when there’s a degree of ambiguity towards the correct answer?” One said. “That semi-skimmed milk question should never have been asked.”
The more you know!
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
