U.S. dollar rises modestly after prior session's weakness
NEW YORK, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar edged up in late trading on Tuesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased 0.09 percent to 112.1310, following a 1.13 percent drop in the prior session.
In late New York trading on Tuesday, the euro was up to 0.9853 U.S. dollars from 0.9850 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to 1.1317 U.
