Paul Hollywood blasted by Bake Off fans over his famous handshake
GREAT British Bake Off fans aren’t happy with Paul Hollywood after he got too generous with his famous handshakes during Halloween Week.
While some fans were baffled by the idea of celebrating the spooky day two weeks earlier than it’s supposed to be, others were left confused during the practical challenge where Paul delivered not one, but two handshakes straight out of the gate.
For the first challenge, which was to create a specialist apple cake, Syabira and Maxy both got one of the highly coveted seals of approval from judge Paul.
Seems the gothic yearly event proved to put “Old Blue Eyes” in a giving mood.
But fans weren’t having it, saying the handshakes are losing their credibility because they’re now being, er, handed, out too often.
“Hollywood handshakes are not the thing they were. He gives out far too many now. Used to be like 1 a series,” one fan wrote.
“Hollywood gives out handshakes like they’re going out of fashion,” added another, especially as Paul had commented on the look of the cake. “It belittles every other handshake he’s given.”

“Handing out handshakes like they’re halloween candy!,” commented a fourth.
By the end of the episode bakers had reached their trickiest (or treatiest?) challenge yet, creating edible spooky lanterns for their showstoppers.
Syabira was crowned this week’s star baker after what Paul Hollywood declared was “unmatched” by the rest of the competitors.
Sadly, we still had to stay goodbye to another fan favourite, Dawn.
“Game Over. I really don’t want to shed tears over it, because it really has been one of the most amazing experiences. One of the best experiences of my life,” she told the cameras.
“I’m really proud of what I’ve done. And I’ve had fun. Such fun.”
