Bake Off fans all have the same complaint about Halloween-themed episode
THE GREAT British Bake Off fans were getting a creepy sense something was wrong on tonight’s episode, believing the episode was airing too early.
In the latest episode of the Bake Off, viewers tuned in to find themselves watching a spooky version of the Channel 4 favourite… and wondered why, considering Halloween is still two weeks away.
As hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding introduced the theme of this week’s episode, the remaining bakers were tasked with challenges including an eerie apple pie creation, and making s’mores from scratch for the technical.
But viewers couldn’t get over that it wasn’t quite in time with the celebration, a time of year which celebrates ghosts, ghouls and the freaky in all its finery.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Sorry why are we doing Halloween two weeks before Halloween???”
“Halloween week on 18 October is a bit weird, non?,” asked another.

While another joked that, because of the show being filmed months ahead of time, it would’ve been even weirder for the bakers involved, saying: “Halloween special 2 weeks away from Halloween and filmed in the middle of summer in 40c heat. Genius. Next week is Guy Fawkes special followed by Christmas”
Another was thrown off balance and asked: “[Bake Off] was this meant to be next weeks episode? Would have been better on the 25th at least. Maybe they put episode one on a week early and so now we’re a week ahead. This feels weird haha #bakeoff.”
“Have they mis-judged the date of output for this episode of #GBBO? It’s not Halloween for another 13 days!,” declared another.
We’re personally disappointed we didn’t get a guest appearance from self-proclaimed Halloween queen Helena Garcia from last year’s series.
