I’m a cleaning pro – here’s how to make my house smell amazing and stop dust sitting on your skirting boards

Thankfully one savvy mum has shared her hack – and you’ve probably already got everything you need at home. 

Charla, known online as @charlascleaninghacks, regularly shares her cleaning tips with her 52,000 followers. 

Her latest reel sees the cleaning pro share how she keeps her skirting boards dust free – by spreading a thin layer of fabric conditioner on top of them. 

In the seven-second video, the cleaning enthusiast can be seen pouring Fairy Fabric Conditioner into a bowl with a microfibre cloth. 

This is available in most stores, with prices starting at just £3.00. 

She is then seen running the damp cloth across her skirting boards. 

Fans loved the hack, with the video gaining more than 6,800 likes and 731,000 views. 

In the comments, Charla’s followers thanked her for sharing the idea, with one writing: “I love the video! I should definitely try this!”

Another said: “I’ve done this for years but I do water it down. Great idea.” 

One savvy mum shared her own hack, writing: “I wipe mine with vinegar and lemon juice.” 

Someone else suggested: “Water and vinegar with a few drops of essential oil also does the same thing.”

Although not everyone supported the idea, with one writing: “This does the opposite.” 

Another said: “This does not stop dust, it attracts it. Use polish for actual dust that works.”
