Ornamental gardening is becoming a popular leisure and a significant business in Estonia and elsewhere Europe. Given the widespread use of peat soils, which, when excavated, transform from carbon sinks to sources of CO2 emissions, it is becoming increasingly important to find alternative solutions for ornamental plant growth, Olesja Escuer, a researcher at the Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU) said.
