I want to shine a light on the dark side of boy bands, says Take That’s Robbie Williams
Robbie Williams wants to make a warts-and-all series about why band members often Come Undone.
‘With Take That, Gary Barlow leaves the band… he suffered with bulimia, didn’t leave his house, went to sleep underneath his piano because he’d forgotten to write songs,’ Robbie began.
‘Howard Donald wanted to commit suicide after he left. Mark Owen’s been to rehab, and Jason Orange just can’t do it.
‘And then there’s me, the mental health, the rehabs, the addiction, there’s all of that.’
The chart-topper, 48, added to Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe: ‘I’m sure in five or ten years’ time, if you sit down with One Direction they’re all going to have their “isms” that have been caused by this machine.
I want to do a documentary about it. Boy bands and girl bands, and what really happens.’ Rob’s own doc about his life is out on Netflix next year.
