It’s time! Netflix renews ‘The Sandman’ for season 2
MANILA, Philippines – The Dream continues! Netflix announced on Thursday, November 3, that fantasy drama series The Sandman is renewed for a second season.
“The rumors are true. Netflix is thrilled that so many of you have been watching Sandman, and the thing we were all hoping would happen…has indeed happened…” author Neil Gaiman tweeted.
Netflix also shared a statement from Gaiman, saying: “There are some astonishing stories waiting for Morpheus and the rest of them. Now it’s time to get back to work. There’s a family meal ahead. And Lucifer is waiting for Morpheus to return to Hell.”
Details on the second season’s plot, official cast, production timeline, or release date have not been disclosed yet.
The Sandman is a 75-issue dark fantasy comic book series by Neil Gaiman that follows Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, and The Endless, a powerful group of immortal siblings who represent universal concepts, such as Destiny, Destruction, Death, Despair, Dream, Desire, and Delirium.
The Netflix adaptation, which premiered in August, sees Tom Sturridge as Dream. It also stars Jenna Coleman, David Thewlis, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Boyd Holbrook Donna Preston, and Stephen Fry. – Rappler.com
