MasterChef: The Professionals viewers have a big complaint about Gregg Wallace as new series kicks off
FANS of the show were left feeling the same way towards judge Gregg Wallace last night – and it all came down to one thing.
MasterChef: The Professionals returned to BBC One screens on Wednesday evening with a new set of chefs battling it out to claim the winning title.
The show was given a refresh with the introduction of brand new judge Anna Haugh alongside MasterChef king Gregg Wallace and Marcus Wareing.
Across the series, 32 hopeful chefs will be tested to see if they have what it takes to be crowned the MasterChef.
In last night’s episode, four hopefuls were split into two and given tasks by Anna and Marcus to test their skills.
Anna had Anastasia and Parminder attempt to open oysters, poach and smoke them in a beurre blanc sauce.

Marcus tested their pastry skills by having the prospective cooks make a fruit tart with jam, crème pâtissière and Italian meringue.
Although the chefs were able to create some real delights, it was not the food that had viewers at home all saying the same thing.
Many people were quick to criticise Gregg for his critiques of the contestants.
Fans felt it was in fact hypocritical for the presenter to be calling out the mistakes of the professional chefs when he is in fact not a chef himself.

Gregg built his culinary career off the back of being a greengrocer, so he knows a thing or two about the ingredients.
But many fans felt as though he should have refrained from commenting on the cooking.
One disgruntled fan fumed: “#MasterChefTheProfessionals Good old sexist Gregg finding fault with the young woman chef, when the real chefs were heaping praise on her. Just let Gregg do the introduction and the professionals do the judging!”
A second praised the show but lashed out at Gregg, saying: “Excellent first episode of #MasterChefTheProfessionals gosh they are this talented now…Gregg just annoyed me re the pickled raspberry sauce, but then he’s not a chef!”
A third raged: “#MasterChefTheProfessionals correct decision at the end. Can almost hear Gregg’s teeth gritting as it was announced. F*** off back to your veg stall.”
A fourth added: “I miss Monica but really like Anna as a judge on #MasterChefTheProfessionals Just need 3G Gregg to stop showing off.”
