Bank of England raises benchmark rate to 3 pct, highest in 14 years

Since December 2021, the BoE has increased its benchmark rate from 0.1 percent to 3 percent. In the 12 months to September, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 10.1 percent from 9.9 percent in August.
