Miami-Dade County has hired at least three probably-not-former Proud Boys as poll workers
The state that used to be famous for drunken spring breakers and is now infamous for being an alt-right bastion under Trump-wannabe Gov. Ron DeSantis has decided to go all-in on its new look: Florida is now hiring (allegedly) former members of the Proud Boys to man its polls on Election Day.
HuffPost reports that three ex-Proud Boys were hired as poll workers in Miami-Dade County, one of whom—Gabriel Garcia—stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. He was finally placed on a volunteer standby list and has not yet been reassigned to another polling station.
The other two men were identified by Local 10 News as Christopher Barcenas (who was also at the Capitol on Jan. 6, although it is not known if he entered the building) and Nowell Salgueiro. Both men are on track to be trained for their Election Day duties. HuffPost reports all three are current members of the Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee.
