Repot: Spurs refuse to confirm Super League stance amidst potential relaunch
Football Insider report that Tottenham Hotspur have refused to confirm their stance on the European Super League amidst reports of a potential relaunch.
Tottenham, as well as the five other ‘big six’ clubs in the Premier League, were among the 12 teams across Europe who signed up for the Super League. While nine of those clubs have subsequently pulled out, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus continue to back the breakaway competition.
The new chief executive of the European Super League, Bernd Reichart told the Financial Times (via Football.London) a couple of weeks ago that he plans on having a dialogue with all the stakeholders to launch a new proposal for the competition.
He further added that the organisation intended to move towards an open format, insisting that permanent membership was off the table.
According to The Echo, Liverpool have confirmed that they stand by their decision to withdraw from the Super League.
However, when Football Insider asked Tottenham to comment on the matter, the North London club allegedly refused to take the opportunity to reaffirm their stance.

The main objection that fans had about the Super League was the unfair format, which involved permanent membership for 12 clubs.
If that is to be done away with and if the competition has a meritocratic format, I do not see why it can not replace the Champions League.
However, if an independent regulator is introduced in English football, clubs likely will not be allowed to join such a competition anyway.
