BENJAMIN Mendy told his rape trial today “I’m no Brad Pitt” but said it was “honestly so easy” to have sex with women.

The Man City star has been accused of being a “predator” who “turned the pursuit of women for sex into a game”.

He is accused of seven counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault against six young women.

Mendy, 28, has taken to the witness stand today at Chester Crown Court for the first time.

He told the court it was “honestly, so easy” for him to meet up with women and have sex “because of the status” – admitting he is “no Brad Pitt.

The left-back said the attention became “10 times more” when he he began playing for Man City.

Mendy added: “Manchester City is one of the best teams in Europe.

“The way they came to me is not because of the way I look, it is because of football.”

When asked if he enjoyed the attention anyway, the French international continued: “Yeah I wouldn’t say it was bad”.

Mendy also claimed “most of the time” women would approach him and claimed he was “stop” if they did not want to have sex.

He told jurors he would often sleep with different women on the same night, admitting: “For me it was normal, I realised just now it sounds bad.”

Mendy also said he didn’t realise he could hurt a woman’s feelings if they both wanted to have sex – claiming he now knows his behaviour was “disrespectful”.

The star has been accused of raping women in “panic rooms” at his isolated mansion in Cheshire while hosting parties.

Some of his alleged victims claim their phones were taken away from them on arrival, which the prosecution say left them unable to call for help.

But Mendy told the court today he would only tell people not to use their phones if another footballer was at his home or he didn’t know the person well.

He also spoke about his time spent in custody after he was remanded for just over four months following the charge.

Mendy said he was “upset” at the time but he “learned a lot of things about life”.

The footballer, who still receives his annual £4.7million salary from City despite being suspended, told jurors he made £4 a day in prison.

He said: “I was earning like £4 every day, to spend it in the canteen to buy some food.

“It is the first time I was really careful.

“The life I had before, everything I wanted to have, I just buy it.

“So it taught me the value of money.”

Mendy is on trial with co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, 41, who was an alleged “fixer” in charge of finding women for sex.

He denies six counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault relating to seven young women.
