I’m a female DJ – trolls say I’m only booked for my looks and ‘need to put more clothes on’

BEING a woman in an industry that is male-dominated is never an easy feat with all the backlash you may face.

For one female DJ, she’s used to insults being hurled her way, but they don’t stop her from getting her job done and having a great time doing it.

“Stupid comments I get as a female DJ,” the blonde bombshell wrote in a TikTok video.

Dancing around to an electronic song in a red crop top with a chest cut out and some white pants, DJ Brooklyn then listed off the hate that often gets thrown at her.

“Bet your sets are pre-recorded,” one comment said.

“You didn’t work hard to get where you are,” said another.

“They only book her for her looks,” another read.

“She just presses play and dances around,” an additional presumptive comment said.

“You need to put more clothes on,” said a final comment.

One person in the comments section of Brooklyn’s video who could relate to her DJ struggles wrote: “My fav is when security thinks I’m the DJ’s girlfriend when I try and go up to play a set.”

Others were encouraging of Brooklyn, telling her to continue her craft.

“Can’t please everyone, keep [up the] great work beautiful, you’re amazing,” one person said.

“More clothes??? Do these people realize how warm it gets in those clubs?? It’s a miracle we’re able to keep clothes on,” another added.

“Nah don’t ever listen to that hate. Honestly, you are one of Australia’s best female DJs and coolest people ever,” a final person said.
