I’m A Celeb fans convinced a campmate is ‘manipulating the viewers’
FANS of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here are convinced that one of the campmates is “manipulating the viewers”, just two days in.
Viewers have noted how one of the new celebrity recruits has been very open about their fear of heights – and they think it might all be fake in order to get “screen time”.
Tonight, Babatunde Aleshe is set to be seen conquering his fear of heights in his first Bushtucker trial, after explaining his crippling fear.
The Gogglebox star was voted by the public to do Horrifying Heights, after he failed to walk the plank ahead of his entrance into camp.
The Walk The Plank trial is a fan favourite amongst viewers of the ITV reality show, and was renamed The Ledge for this year’s series.
Babatunde, 34, was the only star who failed to complete the challenge on top of a 32-story building, which saw Jill Scott and Charlene White plunge off the ledge.

However, some viewers have been left unconvinced by Babatunde’s fear of heights, and think he’s “manipulating” I’m A Celeb fans.
Taking to Reddit, one speculated: ” Babatunde is the least well known of the celebs this year, and has the most to gain from the exposure.
“He must be aware that as the least well known celeb the odds of him getting the audience vote for any of the upcoming trials are slim to none – and the trials are the only guarantee of dedicated screen time.
“He must also know that the audience likes to punish the celebs, and they skew towards those who seem the most afraid.

“He quit the very first challenge, it seems like everyone is going to be voting for him… giving him exposure that he otherwise wouldn’t get.
“I think there’s a good chance that this was a calculated move, even more so if he’s aware that Matt Hancock is joining soon.
“I’m not criticising him here – I think it’s a smart decision if it was intentional and I’ll be voting for him either way.”
Other fans chimed in to agree, with one writing: “The cynic in me thought the exact same thing, although, can’t say I blame him really.”
A second said: “I mean it’s possible but I would be willing to believe that it was a genuine reaction.”
However, some defended Babatunde, with one writing: “You’re on the edge of a building, he could just be scared and didn’t want to do it.”

But the original poster hit back: “I agree that it could have been a genuine reaction – that’s why I said I think he might be manipulating the audience.”
