Five people at a Granada Hills apartment complex were rushed by firefighter-paramedics to hospitals Saturday, Nov. 11, following a possible drug overdose, authorities said.
Shortly after 8 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department was notified that people needed medical assistance in the 16900 block of West Blackhawk Street, said Nicholas Prange, a spokesperson for the agency.
The patients included three women and two men, ages 26 to 40. One person was in cardiac arrest but was resuscitated by firefighter-paramedics, Prange said.
They were transported to a pair of hospitals, where their conditions remain unknown. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the cause of the incident.
