Pub named The Black Bitch after a greyhound forced to change its ‘racist’ name

More than 11,000 signed a petition against changing the historic name of the public house in Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland. The name references the female term for a dog - bitch - and is based on a local legend of a black female greyhound who it is said brought food to her starving owner.
