[Women's Basketball] Park, USK Remain Unbeaten in Preseason
Coming off a near upset of DI Utah Valley State, Park-Gilbert returned home to take on Ottawa (Ariz.) in an in-state matchup that saw the Buccaneers prevail 75-52 in Mesa, Ariz. Park used a 33-point second quarter to blow open and improve to 2-0 in the early season. Both teams struggled in the opening quarter, but the Bucs defense was stellar, holding the Spirit to 11 percent and only six points. Park got the offense going in the second period, going 12-of-14 from the floor, including a perfect 3-3 from long range. Macy Markus, who finished with a game-high 17 points, paced the scoring with 13 points in the period. Markus also had a career high eight assists which also tied the school record. Park had three players with eight points Valerie Van Dijk, Jayla Reliford, and Kayla Schroeder. Madison Chappell led all rebounders with 12 boards.
