Construction begins on 1.2 million-square foot terminal at JFK airport

NEW YORK CITY, New York: New York state Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted final environmental approval for a new $4.2 billion terminal at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The construction will begin early next year on a 1.2 million-square foot, 10-gate terminal at JFK, she said.

The new Terminal 6 will be built in two phase
