The 13th World Team Chess Championship takes place in Jerusalem 20th to 25th November 2022. There has been a radical change in format with groups and then a knockout final stage along with the accelerated time control of 45 minutes + 10 seconds per move. It's importance never really matched that of the Olympiad even though the quality of the field was higher. This time there are a number of strong players, MVL, Giri, Van Foreest, Mamedyarov, Radjabov, Onischuk and Vidit but the generally teams not the best that could be put out.
