Race of Remembrance 2022
Remembrance Sunday this year once again saw one of the most extraordinary national racing events in the UK – The Race of Remembrance.
Hosted as usual at Anglesey Circuit with one of the most dramatic backdrops in the world of motorsport, this club level event is special on a number of levels – notably the involvement in the paddock, pit garages, pit wall and in the cockpit of a large number of ex-servicemen and women, many of whom are recipients of the services of our friends at Mission Motorsport who strive to provide help, assistance and guidance to those leaving the military with illness, physical and psychological challenges.
The race features a quite extraordinary pause on Remembrance Sunday morning, the whole field red-flagged to a halt on pit lane to allow a highly emotional Service of Remembrance to take place before racing restarts.
Extraordinary people, extraordinary stories and an amazing event – DSC is hugely grateful for the pics below from Red Water Images’ James Wadham.
If you want to learn more about Mission Motorsport take a look here – and if you feel you can make a contribution to their work either financially and/ or by providing training or employment opportunities for their extraordinary men and women – please get in touch.
