I’m a beauty pro and tried the viral octopus brows trend – but it was so difficult and I looked absolutely crazy

WE all know that beauty trends come and go, but it seemed that for a while, big, full brows were here to stay. 

That was until ‘octopus brows’ started trending online. 

Luckily one beauty pro has tested the new viral trend to see how easy it is – and whether she thinks it’s here to stay. 

Chantelle, known online as @chantelleef, regularly shares beauty tips with her one million TikTok followers. 

In a new video, she tries out the octopus brows – and admits that it’s trickier than it looks. 

“Out of all of the eyebrow trends I’ve seen, this one has to be the craziest one, so we’re going to try it. 

“And as always, we’re using Bear Brows because this stuff is super glue. 

“I have a feeling this is going to be a lot harder than it looks. 

“She grabs the top of it and then kind of cuts it in half. Oh lord. 

“I don’t know where this is going. 

“It’s a lot harder than it looks. 

“You have to drag it down, and then you have to kind of spin it into a little tail like that.”

During the one-minute video, Chantelle is seen separating her brow down the middle, before pushing the top layer up, and the bottom layer down. 

She then forms ‘tentacles’ by pushing some of the hairs together to form a point. Each of these faces a different direction, giving it the Octopus-style look. 

“Everything about this just feels wrong, to be fair. 

“To be fair, do you remember when everyone started to do the feather brows and everyone went crazy about it? 

“This possibly could be the 2023 brow trend. 

“I’m sorry, but I think I absolutely nailed that. And people say I don’t have talent.” 

The unique makeup trend attracted plenty of attention, with the video gaining more than 185,000 likes and 1.8 million views. 

But in the comments, Chantelle’s followers weren’t fans on the viral eyebrow trend, with one writing: “Nah sorry i don’t wanna give my eyebrows a middle part.”

Another said: “I’ll stick to my 2016 brows.”

A third added: “PLEEEEEESE tell me this is NOT going to be a trend, I will be in hysterics every time I pass someone who has this…”

Not all were against it though, with someone else commenting: “It looks so high fashion though looks kinda good.”
