I tried on my mom’s old Pan Am stewardess uniform from the ‘70s – people say it’s phenomenal and women are jealous
IN the 1960s and ’70s, airline companies used pretty flight attendants in flattering uniforms as a way to entice travelers.
Catching a flight was regarded as a glamorous way to travel, and the staff on board reflected this image.
A TikTok user, who runs the account @sensitive_studio, tried on her mother’s old uniform from her days working with Pan Am.
The airline, which pioneered air travel from 1927-1991, is said to have “epitomized the luxury and glamour of intercontinental travel.”
Pan Am flight attendants embodied this ideology by wearing the now famous powder blue uniform.
The young influencer modeled her mother’s classic ’70s, which consisted of a long pencil skirt, white button-up blouse, matching blue blazer with gold buttons.
The stylish look also included a brown belt, complete with a Pan Am buckle, a colorful satin neckerchief, and the iconic blue hat.
The TikTok user completed the retro look by pinning a golden Pan Am badge to her chest.
The TikToker’s mother’s Pan Am memorabilia also included a miniature game of Jacks, which was stored inside a tiny blue Pan Am bag.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the famous uniform.
“I’ve never been more jealous of an outfit than in this moment,” wrote one viewer.
Another follower said: “The whole outfit is phenomenal but it was the belt that made me gasp. And you look amazing in it.”
“When flying was classy!!! Elegant, and neat!! Love it, love it, love it,” commented a third person.
