Warriors’ Steph Curry to start tonight vs. Suns: report
The wait is over, Warriors fans.
Two-time MVP Stephen Curry is reportedly set to make his return Tuesday night from a monthlong absence forced by a left shoulder injury. The Warriors face the Suns at Chase Center and Curry is expected to start, according to ESPN’s Kendra Andrews.
Curry is officially listed as questionable on the NBA’s injury report, which was updated at 12:30 p.m. PT.
The Warriors’ star suffered a partial separation of his left shoulder Dec. 14 in Indiana and has missed 11 games since. The Warriors have gone 6-5 in those games, and they’ll conclude an eight-game homestand with Tuesday’s game against Phoenix, beginning a five-game trip Friday in San Antonio.
Curry hurt the shoulder during a road loss to the Pacers when he stripped the ball from Indiana center Jalen Smith.
Fellow Warriors starter and 2022 All-Star Andrew Wiggins returned Saturday after missing 15 games due to a groin injury and illness.
Also on the injury report for Tuesday night are Klay Thompson (probable with left knee soreness) and Andre Iguodala (probable with left hip injury maintenance). JaMychal Green (right leg infection), Jonathan Kuminga (right foot sprain) and James Wiseman (left ankle sprain) are all listed out for the game.
The Suns will be without stars Devin Booker (left groin strain) and Chris Paul (right hip soreness), and fellow starters Deandre Ayton (left ankle sprain) and Torrey Craig (right ankle sprain) are listed as questionable, as is rotation guard Landry Shamet with a right hip injury.
