The outage forced FAA to put a halt on all domestic departures until 9 am Eastern time while it tested whether crews had managed to restore the system and bring it back online. Speaking to reporters, President Joe Biden said that he had been briefed by the transportation secretary and that "aircraft can still land safely, just not take off right now."
