China's Wang upsets Van Uytvanck to reach Hobart International quarters

SYDNEY, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- China's Wang Xinyu on Wednesday booked her slot in the Hobart International quarterfinals after edging out world No. 70 Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 at the Domain Tennis Center.

Ranked world No. 89, the 21-year-old Chinese young gun fired three aces, won 69.4 percent of her first-serve points and saved four out of six break points through the 140-minute clash.
