Congressional Republicans, buoyed by their recent takeover of the House, have announced plans for a new committee, a special committee, a GOP-run committee, that will look at past years of government abuses committed by federal authorities against U.S. citizens - including against Donald Trump - and set the foundations in place, finally, for accountability. Democrats have reacted with horror. Of course they have.
