Blue singer Lee Ryan to appear in court today on race charge after ‘drunkenly abusing BA cabin crew’
BLUE star Lee Ryan will appear in court today on a race charge after allegedly abusing BA staff while drunk on a plane.
The singer, 39, was arrested by armed police after the flight from Glasgow landed at London City Airport.
Ryan will appear at Ealing Magistrates’ Court today to face trial.
The All Rise singer denies assault by beating, assaulting a police officer and behaving in an abusive way towards a cabin crew member.
Ryan is also charged with racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment.
He has previously pleaded guilty to being drunk on an aircraft.
The star later said he was seeking professional help for alcohol problems.
Ryan was arrested in August following the alleged incident and spent the night in the cells.
The singer formed boy band Blue in 2000 with Antony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe.
They have since sold 14million records and had three Number 1 albums.
Their biggest hits include songs All Rise, Too Close, One Love and U Make Me Wanna.
Blue recently went on a 20th anniversary tour and released a new album, Heart & Soul.
