I’m a beauty pro and you’ve been putting your make-up on all wrong – contour and blusher need to come first
A BEAUTY pro is calling for us all to change the way we put our makeup on – and claims foundation should go on LAST.
Inspired by celebrity makeup artist Mary Phillips, she’s suggesting we put our contour and blusher on before anything else.
Suzie, known online as @suziebonaldi, regularly shares hair and beauty tips with her 25,000 followers.
In a new video, she shows fans how they can get ‘perfectly blended out blush’ by applying these two products underneath their foundation and concealer.
“Everyone is talking about this contour technique that you’ve seen on the likes of Kendall Jenner, Hailey Beiber.
“It’s by Mary Phillips, their make-up artist, and you apply your contour and then apply your foundation over the top.
“However I take that and I raise you blush under foundation.
“This is actually a happy accident I discovered after applying the brightest Rare Beauty blush in all the land.
“I’d done all my makeup, got to the end, applied a blush that was brighter than this, and I’d used way too much, and it just wouldn’t blend out.
“It looked kind of similar to this, but in all honesty, I think it was worse.
“Now I’ve applied my blush, I’m going to take my foundation, this is the Jones Road foundation.
“I’ve not used this before but I’ve heard good things.
“So I’m just going to take a little bit onto my brush and you want to make sure your brush is covered.
“I actually used to do my foundation, like a full face of foundation, and then I would do my blush at the end and just go over the top with the excess on my foundation brush and it honestly works like a dream.
“This foundation is so nice and so creamy.
“And this just makes you look super glowy, and like you are blushing from within, and don’t even get me started on how well it works with powder.
“I can’t not show you, I can’t. I’m going to take my Sarratt blush, this is the bright blush in the whole world like it is a hot pink.
“Gonna just apply that to my cheeks and to my nose.
“Then we’re going to take our foundation and buff that over the top.
“And if you want to retain that pop of colour in the centre, just buff around the edges.
“That is how to get the most perfectly blended out blush. Try it, thank me later.”
Fans loved the quick and easy hack, with the video gaining more than 800 likes and 34,000 views.
In the comments, Suzie answered some questions about the technique.
One follower asked: “Do you need to use a foundation brush with this technique? I tried it with my beauty blender and it didn’t work. Just covered everything.”
The content creator replied: “I haven’t tried with a B.B. however I would say try less product (you don’t need the normal amount) or a lower coverage foundation or cc cream.
Another wrote: “Yes. Love doing this from time to time. Occasionally with crème highlighter underneath foundation as well.”
