Bangladesh hikes consumer electricity price by 5 pct

DHAKA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi government decided on Thursday to hike the electricity price by 5 percent to 7.48 taka per unit on a weighted average.

The new rate came into effect from Jan. 1, 2023, according to a notice from the ministry of power, energy and mineral resources.
