Matt Holliday resigns as Cardinals' bench coach

Matt Holliday resigned as the St. Louis Cardinals' bench coach after just two months on the job.

In his place, the club hired Joe McEwing to fill the role Holliday was chosen for on manager Oliver Marmol's staff.

USA Today reported that Holliday's resignation was motivated by a desire to spend more time with his family.
