Mum shares genius hack on how to tell which of your kids have been stealing snacks out of the cupboard in seconds
HAVE you ever suspected one of your children is stealing treats from the snack cupboard in between meal times?
Now a savvy mum has revealed how you can find out which one of your kids is the culprit in just seconds.
TikTok user Chrissy J revealed all you need is some glitter and it will immediately help piece things together.
Chrissy, whose profile is @chrissy.j.xx, uploaded a video to her account of a tub of chocolate she was trying to keep away from little hands.
Alongside the clip, she wrote: “POV – the kids promise they’re not sneaking the treats…
“But they seem to be going down quickly.”
The video then showed the mum taking some glitter in the same colour as the box – in this case purple.
She poured a small amount onto the lid and spread it by shaking the box.
This meant that it was there, but that you could only see it if you were inspecting it closely.
Next, she popped the tub back on the side – although it can easily go back into the cupboard – and waited.
This way she’d be able to tell if anyone was tucking in, as there would be glitter from the lid left on the floor.
Or, if the kids touched the right part of the tub, it would be all over their fingers – therefore showing who had been getting treats on the sly.
Chrissy’s social media followers were sold on the tried and tested method.
The video racked up almost 10,000 likes, as her social media followers branded it genius.
One person wrote: “Clever, I like that.”
A second said: “If they open the lid the glitter will go EVERYWHERE.”
Chrissy was also quick to say that it was “just for fun” and wasn’t meant to be taken seriously.
This comes after a fellow mum shared one of her trusted hacks to help solve her pet peeve.
Mum-of-four Kelly Henry revealed she was so fed up with her kids arguing non-stop, that she’d come up with her own unique way of making them stop bickering over chores.
She explained that she’d introduced a ‘Day of the Week’ rule – a rota that cleared up exactly who needed to do what.
In return, the child has special privileges on their day – from picking what’s for dinner to choosing what they all watch on TV.
