Hungary's average inflation for 2022 rises to 14.5 pct

BUDAPEST, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Hungary's annual average inflation rate was 14.5 percent in 2022, up from 5.1 percent in 2021, the country's Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.

The official target of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) was 3.0 percent for 2022.

"The highest price rises were recorded for electricity, gas and other fuels as well as food over the last 12 months," KSH said.
