Christina Applegate Confirms First Awards Show Appearance Since MS Diagnosis, Says She's 'NERVOUS! But Grateful'
Christina Applegate is retuning to the red carpet at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (January 15).
The outing will mark the 51-year-old Dead to Me actress’ first awards show appearance since she revealed that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in August 2021.
She confirmed her appearance at the upcoming event and revealed how she was feeling on social media.

“So this Sunday will be the first awards show I have been to since 2019. And the first since MS. NERVOUS! But grateful to the @CriticsChoice for including me,” Christina wrote on Twitter.
She is going into the evening with a Best Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for her work on Dead to Me. She’ll face off against fellow nominees Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Girls5eva), Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs) and Jean Smart (Hacks).
On the topic of awards shows, Christina also reacted to her nomination at the 2023 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards.
“Thank you @SAGawards for this nomination today,” she wrote on Twitter. “I’ve had an incredibly hard year, and today this made me smile. Much love to my peers and to my sweet Jean Smart and the other incredible ladies I walk beside.”
Christina made her first public appearance after her MS diagnosis last November when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She also got very honest about her diagnosis.
